The thickness for vinyl pool liners is typically distinguished by "Gauge" in the above ground pool industry. The higher the gauge, the thicker and more durable the vinyl pool liner is. A 20 Gauge liner is considered standard for vinyl liners. A 25 Gauge liner is thicker and more durable compared to a 20 Gauge liner. 30 Gauge, 35 Gauge, and 40 Gauge liner are the heaviest and most durable liners available.
