This SwimSmart Plug-In 110 Volt 40K BTU Electric Heat Pump is ideal for above ground pools up to 21' Round. This heater would be under-sized for a 24′ round above ground pool, particularly if you want reliable heating in varying weather. It will work, but more slowly, and it may struggle to maintain your target temperature, especially on cooler days or with heat loss from wind, shade, or at night.
Any model 50,000 BTU or larger would be sufficient for a 24' round swimming pool. If you would like to extend your swimming season into the late Fall or early Spring, or if you live in a colder area, we would recommend oversizing the heat pump to a 84,000 BTU or larger unit.
