Hydrotools single speed pumps are typically designed for continuous operation, meaning they can run 24 hours a day if needed. However, in most cases, continuous 24/7 use is not necessary or ideal for energy efficiency and equipment longevity.
We recommend running your filter 8-12 hours per day during normal conditions. More filter time may be necessary during very hot weather and heavy usage. We also recommend using a timer that way you do not have to manually plug in and unplug the pump every day when you are looking to turn it on or off.
