If your pool is cloudy and you plan to use The Cloudy Water Package 1, the order and timing are important for the best results.
First, make sure your pool water is properly balanced. Check and adjust the pH (ideal range 7.2–7.6), alkalinity, and calcium hardness if needed.
Once the water is balanced, begin by adding the non-chlorine shock. Broadcast it evenly across the surface of the pool with the pump running. This will oxidize organic contaminants and help clear out the root causes of cloudiness. After adding the shock, wait at least 4 to 6 hours (or follow the specific wait time as directed on the product label) before adding the clarifier.
Once enough time has passed, you can add the super clarifier according to the label directions. The clarifier will bind fine particles together so they can be filtered out more effectively.
Run your filter continuously for at least 24 to 48 hours during this process, and make sure to monitor the filter pressure. If you have a sand filter, backwash when the pressure rises 8 to 10 psi above the normal starting pressure. For cartridge or DE filters, clean or rinse them after 24 hours of circulation. Avoid adding the shock and clarifier at the same time, as they can interfere with each other’s effectiveness.
