A salt chlorine generator works by converting salt (sodium chloride) added to the pool water into chlorine through a process called electrolysis. As the pool water passes through the generator's cell, an electrical charge is applied, splitting the salt molecules and producing chlorine gas, which then dissolves in the water to form hypochlorous acid, the active sanitizing agent. This system continuously regenerates chlorine, maintaining clean and sanitized pool water.
