To clean the cartridge, turn off the pump and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing. Remove the cartridge and rinse it thoroughly with a garden hose, spraying between the pleats to remove dirt and debris. For best results, this should be done regularly depending on pool usage and water conditions. It is also beneficial to clean the debris using a Filter Cartridge Spray.
On the Hayward XStream 100 Cartridge Filter System, the cartridge can typically be removed without disconnecting the hoses from the pump, since the housing is designed for easy access once the lid is opened.
