A pool cove is needed to properly support the pool liner. You can use either a sand cove or foam cove, but a foam pool cove is recommended over a sand cove. Foam cove helps prevent washout and an eventual liner blowout because it will not wash away if the liner develops a leak. The foam pool cove easily peels and sticks to the inside base of the pool wall and must be installed on top of the bed of sand at the bottom of the pool. This provides proper support for the liner and helps eliminate stress at the seam of the pool liner. Always review and follow the manufacturer’s installation and safety instructions for the required sand base and cove.
