This cover is made from ultra-violet inhibited, woven triple-laminated polyethylene and is 2–3 times thicker than most above ground winter pool covers, with heavy-duty stitching and reinforced binding to help prevent tearing. However, it is not specifically designed to be animal-proof. Birds and squirrels may still damage the cover if they scratch, chew, or peck at it.
