The Sand Filter Systems that we sell do not include filter sand. Filter sand (also known as silica sand) is engineered to trap tiny debris and keep your water crystal clear. It is usually sold in 50lb bags and can be found at any pool store.
We also have a great alternative to using pool filter sand. The Platinum Filtra Balls For Sand Filters are a lightweight filter media that replaces the sand inside your sand filter system. These Filtra Balls offer better filtration than filter sand and are significantly lighter than filter sand (1 package of Filtra Balls weighs less than 2 pounds and is equivalent to 50 pounds of normal filter sand).
