While Confer offers instructions for both options (leaving the steps in the pool or removing them), we recommend completely removing the steps from the swimming pool during off-season maintenance.
Taking the steps out of the pool provides the best protection for your liner, prevents freeze damage to the resin components, and ensures your pool cover fits securely. You can view the manufacturer's winterizing instructions on Page 8 of the Owner's Manual here.
