Decent product once the assembly is finished.

I purchased these steps with the exterior ladder attachment thinking they would be really sturdy. The ladder steps give a lot even with a small adult and the banister on the inside steps is not as sturdy as I would like. Steps are poorly engineered and could use some redesign as far as assembly. The legs that snap into the donut feet were so flimsy and kept smashing in every time we tried to attach them. After much effort using the soap & mallet, we finally got the pieces to snap together. 2 of the feet/legs would not stay on when steps were put in water. Had to end up removing steps & putting some of the extra screws we had from the package in the 3 screw-looking legs to secure them. YOU MUST PUT THE SAND IN WHERE THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY OR STEPS WILL FLOAT. We used silica (filter) sand & it worked well to hold the steps down.Instructions are easy to follow. I hope I will enjoy these steps after all the hardships we had getting them in the pool. You will need at least 3 or 4 strong people to get them in the pool.
